As consultations continue by aspirants to various elective positions in the 2015 general elections in the country, Kogi State aspirants have started flexing muscles.
In the renewed consultation over the weekend for the Kogi West Senatorial seat, former secretary to the state government in the immediate past administration, Alhaji Musa Ahmadu and his brother, Hon Ibrahim Shaba have taken their popularity to the electorate.
While it is obvious that the electorate would not give the ticket to the two brothers on the same party, the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, the battle line have been drawn by the duo to woo the electorate to their various sides.
The consultation table of west senatorial district of the state has seen Alhaji Musa Ahmadu aspiring for Senate, while the Lokoja|Kotokarfe federal constituency has seen the request of Hon Ibrahim Shaba for House of Representative.
Sources informed our reporter in Lokoja that it would be a keen contest as the former SSG has the blessing of former governor, Alhaji Ibrahim Idris and the House of representative aspirant has the support of the incumbent as a special adviser in the present cabinet.
One of the supporters of the former SSG who spoke to our reporter in Lokoja yesterday stated that Alhaji Musa Ahmadu has upper hand as events are unfolding, noting that it was the sympathy of the SSG that Hon Ibrahim got political leverage to get to where he is today in politics.
He further stated that it was his attempt to contest on the platform of PDP and use the brother s influence in 2011 to the House of Representative that the electorates swayed their support for CPC and returned Hon Buba Jibrin almost effortlessly.
