Nigerian music superstar Dbanj beat
other African musicians including Fally Ipupa, Wizkid, Davido, Banky W and
Iyanya in World Music Awards‘ “World Best Male Artiste” category. D’Banj beat
the likes of Davido, Akon, 2Face and more to to win the award for “Best Selling
African Artiste” at the 2014 World Music Awards held on Tuesday 27th May 2014
at the Salle des Etoiles in Monte Carlo, Monaco. Banga Lee also performed on
the same stage as Mariah Carey, Miley Cyrus, Flo Rida, Ricky Martin and Tinie
Tempah. American actress and singer Miley Ray Cyrus who is popularly known as
twerking mama, won two World Music Awards at Monte Carlo, Monaco. The singer won
in the categories for Best Female Act and Best Pop Video “Wrecking Ball”.
Stepping onto the stage to collect her plaque, Miley wore a sparkly silver gown
and also performed during the awards, in a floor-length, floral-patterned gown.
After a three-year hiatus, the massive World Music Awards returned on May 27
with a decked out ceremony in Monaco, and they certainly matched their global
billing with a list of nominees that included Miley Cyrus, Katy Perry, Rihanna,
Justin Bieber, Selena Gomez, and so many more. A big congrats to our very own
D-banj………Eja-nla indeed.
