Fayemi-and-Fayose

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate for June 12 governorship election in Ekiti State, Mr Ayo Fayose, has been accused of training thugs to disrupt his own campaign rallies and those of the Labour Party (LP) candidate, Mr Opeyemi Bamidele.
This was contained in a statement signed by the president, Ekiti Youth Emancipation Movement (EYEM) in Ado-Ekiti yesterday.
The thugs, EYEM alleged were to wear the campaign vests of All Progressives Congress (APC) to carry out the bloody attacks in which part of the grand plan is to make the APC look bad, thereby pitching it against the people.
Reacting to the allegation, Fayose’s media assistant, Idowu Adelusi who refuted the allegation said that Ekiti people and the security agents know that it was the APC that was behind the various violent activities in Ekiti State.
He said, “Ayo Fayose and the PDP cannot train thugs to attack any other party’s rallies because we have not done it before and we would not do it.
The principle of our campaign is issue based devoid of violence and name callings”.
Adelusi added that the claim by APC that PDP and its candidate was planning to kit its members with APC’s vest to disrupt Labour Party, and PDP rallies, is petty.
The group however called on security agencies to investigate this devilish plan which is born out of Fayose’s desperation to win over the Ekiti electorates.
