Obasanjo

Former President Olusegun Obasanjo has picked holes on the allegation that the abduction of female students in Chibok, Borno State was orchestrated to bring down the presidency of Goodluck Jonathan, saying such assumption is unfortunate.
Obasanjo who said this in an interview with Channels Television held in his hilltop mansion in Ota, Ogun State added that, “If the presidency is obsessed with one thing and one thing only and any other thing of concern to Nigeria is secondary then the presidency will take that position. It will be unfortunate”.
Obasanjo while reacting to African security summit in Paris  and other allied interventions, noted that “There is nothing that Paris achieved that could not be achieved on African soil. It is unfortunate. Of course, when you have a particular problem, the problem is for you to solve. America can give us information, they can give us intelligence; they will not fight Boko Harm for us. They will not even endanger the lives of their own people, so is the British, so is the French. We must be the architects of our own fortunes as we had been the architects of our own misfortune”.
Obasanjo who also debunked the rumoured solitary mission to rescue abducted Chibok girls said he made moves to reach President Goodluck Jonathan before holding talks on the Chibok girls, “but was surprised at how certain meetings have turned out. I cannot have a plan without the presidency being involved, it would be ‘idiotic”.
He noted that he was beaten by Shehu Sani to letting the state and national authorities know the meeting had taken place and admitted that he owed them an apology.
Chief Obasanjo took a swipe at the Chief of Defence Staff, Air Marshall Alex Badeh for releasing the information that the military knows where the girls are.
